This 2012 Special Edition Oceanis 37 is
available for bareboat charter. She has been Maritime Coastguard Agency/Department of Transport coded for commercial
use. This involves approximately 80 safety modifications being installed, many of which will not be included on a standard
yacht.
She is the three cabin version (twin double stern berths) and is available
for bareboat or skippered charter. The Department of Transport certification is for 10 people at Category 2 level. A
D.O.T. Cat 2 certificate allows for a passage up to 60 nautical miles from the nearest coast by day or night.
This is a Limited Edition of this widely acclaimed yacht. The saloon contains a folding table which converts to a double berth to port plus a small
single berth to starboard. The yacht also includes a full 12 volt fridge rather than the usual coolbox. In the cockpit, a large colour chart plotter
is positioned in front of the helm and the teak cockpit table includes a coolbox for drinks.
This is a lovely yacht to sail with its high aspect rig giving good pointing performance to windward. The yacht has contemporary lines
with a wide stern. There is shaft rather than saildrive.
Location We are at the far western end of the Solent. This is where the most spectacular
scenery is to be found and several anchorages and rivers. These include Alum, Hurst, Totland and Bouldner
bays, and the Lymington, Yar and Beaulieu rivers. A favourite destination is Newtown Creek or continue
up the Solent for another hour to Cowes. Here you can overnight in Shepherds Wharf marina with its friendly
helpful staff or carry on up the Medina river to the Folly Inn where you will also get a warm welcome.
But from our Lymington base, the beautiful beaches of Studland Bay, which is where the Jurassic coast
starts and Poole harbour in Dorset are in range for a day return sail. You will pass the spectacular
Needles rocks marking the far western end of the Isle of Wight on route. |
